TO RE-CLAIM
- The act of taking a previously belittling/ negative/ insulting term towards certain community (usually by the community in question) and adhering a different/ emporing meaning to it.

example: The word "bitch" arose in the 15th century and was used as a derogatory term for womxn, as its meaning came from a female dog with many puppies. Around the 1920s, the "insult" gained substantial popularity which was probably linked to womxn gaining the right to vote. Then, the 1970's-1990's came accompanied by feminist movements who RECLAIMED the term and with this redefined its meaning to be a strong, "get stuff done", assertive womxn.
