This is an invitation to act.

A call to students to write or create your very personal response to climate change, ecological emergencies, in short to what is happening to the World. Researchers, makers, performers, leaders, followers, those on the barricade and those feeling rather paralyzed by it all. Compose, write a poem, a (love-) letter to, for or about the Earth. Make a drawing, painting, picture, share a thought, write an essay or build an installation. Upload a link to your work, performance, podcast, clip, film, any way you express best.

Depending on the contributions we intend to produce a physical booklet, digital platform and/or hold a live/online presentation.

With this collection we hope to build a collective courageous energy for inspiration and change and an antidote to despair.

FIBER Festival 2020 (online and at Brakke Grond, Amsterdam)

FIBER Festival is an Amsterdam based festival that showcases contemporary digital culture, audiovisual art, speculative design and forward thinking music culture to enhance other worldviews. Through the lens of the arts the festival reflects upon the ever shifting impact of technology on society and the environment. We explore these topics collectively through lectures, installation art, performances and by learning from pioneering creative making-processes.

With the theme Instability the 2020 festival invites a new generation of interdisciplinary makers and thinkers, who each offer a new perspective on the relationship between humans and their environment. They create stories and experiences that invite us to question our position within the planet, addressing climate change and geological activities in new ways.

		Biodesign Night 2020

Biodesign Night 2020 (online event, organized by Bluecity)
During this third edition of Biodesign Night, together with designers, artists, engineers and scientist, we will talk and share experiences about the integration of living organisms in the design process and how to implement these at a bigger scale for more impact. We will listen to pitches of the designers and scientists we should keep an eye on. World renowed fashion designer turned biofabrication pioneer Suzanne Lee will take us with her in how biofabrication is the next industrial revolution and how we can implement the ideas at a commercial scale.
